Gypsy Reverie performs the Django Reinhardt tradition live — acoustic guitars, violin, and bass playing the full lindy hop range, from slow drags to flat-out swing.
Rooted in the Hot Club de France sound and drawing from Django standards, original compositions, and the international café traditions we tour through on stage — a Lisbon fado house, a Buenos Aires tango bar — we play intimate venues where the stage is close enough to feel the la pompe rhythm in your chest.

We can take it up, and we don't rush it to get there. If your crowd dances bal, say so and we'll weight the sets that way.

Danceable. We play the Django Reinhardt tradition the way it was played for dancers — la pompe rhythm guitar driving the pulse, steady tempos, and tunes you can count. If you want a listening set we can do that too, but tell us which one you're booking.

Yes. Live music for a beginner lesson is a different job from playing a social — slower, steadier, and more repetitive on purpose — and we're glad to do it. Just flag it when you enquire so we build it into the plan.
Violin, guitars and upright bass. We play as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet depending on the room and the budget, and the larger configurations can include a vocalist. We're fully acoustic up to about 100 people; above that we bring our own sound system, added at $100 for the event.
Yes. We're based in Asheville and play across Western North Carolina; anything within an hour's drive is covered by the standard rate, and beyond that there's a travel fee per musician. We've played as far afield as Maryland and Pennsylvania.
It depends on the size of the band and the length of the night. Rates are turn-key — travel, setup and breakdown included, with our sound system at $100 for rooms over 100 people.
