Gypsy Reverie is an Asheville-based acoustic ensemble whose gypsy jazz and international café music turns an ordinary evening into a night in a candlelit café halfway across the world. Led by violinist Joseph Arnold — a fifteen-year veteran of the Hot Club of Philadelphia and an award-winning author — the band pairs virtuosic string playing with the romance and warmth of the world's great café traditions. Gypsy Reverie recently sold out two nights of its "Evening in Lisbon" series at Asheville's Battery Park Book Exchange.

Acoustic guitars, violin, and bass playing the full Hot Club de France range, from slow drags to flat-out swing. Original compositions, Django standards, custom arrangements, and the occasional Fado detour — the kind of phrasing that sounds like a violin laughing one second and grieving the next. The band plays intimate venues, festivals, weddings, and private events.
